H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training):
HIIT is short for High Intensity Interval Training. It is one of my favorite ways to work out but it is not designed for everyone. It is an exercise program that alternates short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense (low to moderate intensity) recovery periods.
Why HIIT?
This form of exercise is good for people that have already been training for a while and are comfortable with different types of intense exercises. Before a person can start HIIT program they need to be able to perform every exercise with correct form.
HIIT does not have a specific formula. It can be design for a person depending on one’s level of cardiovascular development. If you say that you are very short on time HIIT workout might be the answer. It can be very short, intense, and effective.
I would like to list couple of benefits that HIIT workout has:
- It’s a great workout for a busy schedule. You can complete a great HIIT workout in 4 min but do not expect it to be easy.
- You burn more fat and calories in the 24 hrs after a HIIT workout than you do after a jog or a run.
- Extreme training produces mean extreme results. You will see it sooner than after any other workouts.
- You do not need any equipment for HIIT training. You can do it anywhere!
- HIIT training means loosing weight but it also means maintaining muscles.
What does it mean to you:
- You will burn as much fat as possible!
- You will minimize fat gain during the bulking period.
- You will increase aerobic and anaerobic endurance a great deal.
- If you are an athlete who participates in sport where intensity varies constantly, you will benefit from HIIT training.
- You will see results in a short period of time unlike other fitness programs where you do not see results earlier than 6 weeks.
